Overview
Summary
The City of St. Cloud is seeking applications from not-for-profit 501(c)3 social and human service agencies providing support to the residents of the City of St. Cloud and Osceola County. To be eligible to receive a Community Support Grant, all requested funding must be allocated to one of the following categories: Arts and Culture, Animals, Civic, Conservation, Education, Health and Human Service, or Recreation.
The purpose of the Community Support Grants are to partner with community organizations to efficiently and effectively provide support and assistance to the community while supporting the Vision, Mission and Strategic Plan Goals of the City of St. Cloud.
Background
The Community Support Grant program funds are derived from the Utility Tax Fund and are set aside to aid area Human Service Agencies that are a charitable, non-profit, 501(c)3 agency. These funds are distributed through the grant program, which is administered by the Grants Division of the Procurement Services Department. Each year the City Manager recommends a funding amount, historically $150,000, to be adopted as a line item during the budget process. On or before July 1st, the Notice of Funding Opportunity is announced and grant applications, as well as procedures, are posted on the website. Agencies must submit completed applications by August 31st. Council Members will make funding recommendations for each agency. The numbers are formulated and averaged for the final award amount for each agency; the final list is then brought back for Council approval by Resolution in October.
