1. How long is this program? Jun 20 2023 at 3:28 PM

How long is this contract for? How long would the respite last, months? Weeks? - Jun 21 2023 at 9:06 AMCounty of Sacramento
• Our contract periods with community partners are typically a year with the potential opportunity to be extended. • The County is currently assessing its activation thresholds which would influence how many days meet the threshold and therefore how often we would ask community partners to stay open. • However, we understand that as you consider applying, some sense of activation period would be helpful. We can expect from days up to a month or more, this will vary based on the weather event. Not every event will be the same duration. This is a new program design and appreciate your understanding as we work through changes.
2. HMIS Jun 20 2023 at 3:29 PM

Who has to be a user of HMIS as far as volunteers? Is it just the person leading the program such as myself? Or every volunteers? - Jun 21 2023 at 9:04 AMCounty of Sacramento
Hi Yvette, great question! In this RFQ there are 4 different programs that community partners can apply to and the scope of those programs vary (shelters capacity to warming/cooling). We anticipate working with qualified partners in identifying the relevant staff that need to have access to and be trained in HMIS data entry and reporting requirements for the program. We don't anticipate every person involved in the program needing HMIS access.
3. Shelter Bed Type (question from info session) Jul 10 2023 at 1:51 PM
- Jul 10 2023 at 1:51 PMCounty of Sacramento
For additional shelter beds if a person were to put a tent up and consider that an additional expansion of shelter capacity? - Jul 11 2023 at 11:47 AMCounty of Sacramento
Weather response programs are activated during times of significant inclement weather (heat, cold, rain, etc). Therefore, when we are looking at adding shelter bed capacity, we are looking at partners that are able to provide indoor sheltering
4. Mobile Cooling Space Jul 11 2023 at 11:46 AM
- Jul 11 2023 at 11:46 AMCounty of Sacramento
Do you think we would get some consideration in the grant program as a cooling center at the downtown site at 13th and C Street if we were to provide showers in a heat related emergency? Also thought we could have some portable tents with cooling via fans and ice buckets on site? - Jul 11 2023 at 11:46 AMCounty of Sacramento
With the mobile cooling spaces option we are interested in ideas like what you noted where providers activate pop-up cooling spaces in close proximity to persons experiencing unsheltered homelessness.
