Overview
Summary
The City opened the City's RecycleWorks in 2018 as a free recycling drop-off location for area residents. Currently the recycle center accepts cardboard, newspaper, mixed papers, glass, metal, plastic, and other related recyclable materials. Other recyclable materials are accepted for a minimal fee.
The City is seeking a partner/partners to assist in finding third-party certified recyclers, hauling services, lease of recyclable material containers, and obtaining income from the sale of recyclable materials. The forthcoming Consultant/Contractor agreement(s) will be issued to vendors qualified to offer portions of the requested services and/or the City may award one agreement for all services as determined to best meet the needs of the RecycleWorks.
Background
RecycleWorks was opened with grant funds to better the Pueblo community. The City currently pays directly for the recycling services to reach the center's objectives as follows: keep our community clean, divert waste from the landfill, and recycle materials.
