The Los Angeles Bureau of Street Lighting is releasing this Call for Innovation to source, evaluate, and test effective solutions for reducing the theft of copper wiring from Los Angeles' street lighting system. The goal of this Call for Innovation is to discover and test new solutions that are scalable and cost-effective and that will provide the Los Angeles Bureau of Street Lighting with effective tools to reduce the damage to the City's street lighting system. The goal is to familiarize departments with the technologies available to them and to allow Bureau of Street Lighting stakeholders to evaluate the potential effectiveness and efficiencies that can be achieved by implementing different technology types.
The Los Angeles Bureau of Street Lighting is also interested in evaluating service-based solutions and educational/institutional partnerships for tackling this national problem. This is an outcome-based Call for Innovation and potential partners are encouraged to present creative and innovative solutions for the prevention and deterrence of copper wire theft.
