FDR is typically required only for the mainline travel lanes. However, in some situations, we will use the FDR process for turn lanes and side roads if the existing conditions are not suitable for milling.

Will Night Work be allowed? The current work hours (lane closure hours) are limited to 9am-3pm which will mean poor production and expensive work. We need to know this prior to bid submission to give the County the best prices.

Night work will not be permitted in areas that are highly residential due to noise impacts. Night work may be permissible on mainline roads, contingent upon the proximity to residential neighborhoods.

We will submit the roads, lengths, widths, and scope of work for each road. Hudson Bridge Road, Eagle's Landing Parkway and East Lake Road are all essentially one consecutive section of roadway with changing road names. Therefore, they were all quantified together. For the purpose of providing responses in a timely manner, the roads have not been split into separate quantities.

Is it your intent to mill the road, then patch it, then resurface it? If so, how many days will be allowed between the Milling and Final Surface Placement? FYI, this "sequence of operation" (mill/patch/resurface) cannot be done all on the same day, without costing a fortune. Ideally, there needs to be 7 day between the Milling and Final Surface Placement.

For roads that require milling, the milling operations shall be completed first. Deep patching after milling will only be required as needed at the discretion of Henry County. Seven days is the maximum number of days that will be permitted for a milled surface prior to the placement of asphalt.

Should the contractor include removal and restriping of the concrete bridge decks within the project limits? If so thermoplastic striping will not adhere to the concrete. Will the county consider adding additional preformed thermoplastic pavement markings to cover stop bars, arrows, solid etc…?
