1. INTRODUCTION
1.1. Summary
Pursuant to Section 287.055 Florida Statutes, and the policies and procedures of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (“Aviation Authority”), notice is hereby given that Florida licensed Design Build Contractors, as defined by state law (“Proposers”) are invited to submit Statements of Qualifications for the design and construction of BP-00500 AIRSIDES 1 AND 3 INTERIOR RENOVATION (D/B) (Project) at the Orlando International Airport (MCO).
This Project includes updating the ceilings, floor and walls with materials, fixtures and finishes and includes the following components, as more particularly described in the Request for Statement of Qualifications (RFSQ):
- new contemporary interior finishes,
- seating,
- wayfinding,
- gate counters and
- lighting improvements to the airsides.
The scope of services includes all design and construction services that are required to upgrade the spaces, including, but not limited to, preparation of design documents, development of design alternatives, finishes design, selection of materials, analysis of life cycle costs, permitting, evaluation and documentation of existing conditions, verification of as-built conditions, cost estimating and scheduling, demolition, material procurement, construction, quality control, testing, commissioning, turnover to operations and all other services necessary for fully functioning facilities, including coordination with the Aviation Authority, its consultants, the City of Orlando, and all agencies having jurisdiction over the Project.
Each Proposer may only submit one SOQ. Submitting as a Prime Proposer and participating as a subconsultant on another Proposer’s team may result in the disqualification of the Proposer. Submitting as a subconsultant on multiple teams is allowed.
A Pre-Submittal Conference will be held at 9:00 AM on August 22, 2024, in Conference Room Alpha, Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, Orlando International Airport, 11344 Terminal C Service Road, Orlando, FL 32824.
1.2. Project Description
Brief description of the project;
The Airside 1 and Airside 3 Terminal Buildings located at the North Landside Terminal Complex. Constructed in 1980 and last renovated in 2004. The goal is to improve the Airsides overall passenger experience by providing new contemporary interior finishes, seating, wayfinding, gate counters, and lighting improvements to the airsides comparable to those provided at Terminal C and the recently renovated North Terminal ticket lobby, within the established budget. The scope includes new flooring, upgrade the holdroom areas, new gate counters, new ceilings and lighting systems, new wall panels and column covers, signage and wayfinding, seating layout, styles, and all finishes in the Hub area, and evaluation of operational efficiencies, such as location of the club, airline support spaces, gate layout, queuing and seating, location of trash, news stands, concessions, flight information displays, evaluate wheelchairs and reclaim sterile corridor. This scope description will be refined and may be revised as the design progresses.
